I am a British citizen who loves the music especially Nama sankeertan of Sivasri. She reminds me of my favourite singer M.S.Subbalakshmi.
EVEN BEYOND IN THE CURRENT GENERATION
She is a divine person and blessed. Her rendering is mellifluous and soothing. She has been doing a great service to sangeetha. We would like to see her perform more kacheris. She has performed enough and more naama sankeerthanas and it is time She switched to kacheris again. God bless her with peace, prosperity, good health and fame.

Heard Sivasri first when she with a small group was singing bhajans , abhangs and visiting temples. That experience was something very devotional the way it was performed. Today listening to her with such depth is just mind blowing. Young generation with such great knowledge about music, swara, bhakti is so good to hear. Indian music all kinds but specifically this kind is having great future. Best wishes to Sivasri. Absolutely love the dedication and devotion which she speaks from heart.

@@rajeshrao5099 I know that but I am giving her credit for her talent and clarity of speaking Kannada. Most of the Tamilians don’t know other languages and if they speak has an accent. Shivasri is an exception and won national award for singing Kannada song. It would be nice if you are broad minded and shed narrow mentality
Tamil Brahmins are very versatile to be honest! Even though the non Brahmin tamils hated them throughout, they never let out their frustration and held sanatana dharma above everything! Truly a blessed community Tamil Brahmins are ❤😊
@@shikaripurmanjunath2433 Saying "you are a true Kannadiga" isn't a CREDIT or something to be proud of for non-Kannadiga Indians. Even Ilayaraja started his music career in Kannada, I think, and he worked on a lot of Kannada movies. Still, he's not a true Kannadiga, he's a true Tamil. Same with Sivasri. Her main work is singing, so of course she sings in other languages flawlessly like a native. Other Tamilians in Karnataka have different jobs, so they can't speak like native Kannada speakers.

This girl is fantastic. I have been following her for sometime and her selection of songs and rendering style are something unique. So pleasant and charming in her looks and attitude, she presents music to the audience in a very impressive way that you yearn to listen again and again. She seems to imitate MS subbulakaskmi in her style and bhava but of course has a long way to go to match the skills of the great lady. I wish she does a full time Carnatic hatchery by learning more songs.
Rayaruge namaskara. The success of any interview depends on the relaxed mood and ease at which the person being interviewed is made to feel by the interviewer and I must congratulate Mayurraa for making this interview with Sivasri most explicit and very lively . I have listened to Sivasris earlier interviews but I must acknowledge without hesitation that this is the best I have listened so far. The added advantage was Mayurraa already knew and is conversant with music and with this background his interaction with Sivasri was very impressive and most pertinent.

It is a great conversation. Sivasri is a blessed child and her talent obviously coming from previous birth achievements. I think she has correctly addressed the imporatnce of the Bhava when you sing a song. The purpose of carnatic music is to glorify the Lord as has been done by the great Thiyagaraja and many other famous musicians. So, in this context, we can't separate the divinity in the form of glorification of the Lord and mere singing for the pleasure of our ears. Sivasri is showing the way for the new generation singers as well as for the stalwarts to follow. For this age of kali yuga,Hari Namasankirtanam is the way to progress in our devotion towards Lord Sri Krishna.

This is the first interview which I have followed with this talented artiste Ms Shivasri Skanda Prasad. Enjoyed it thoroughly. She rightly emphasised the importance of knowing the text of the song. Otherwise " Maruvudu alla " becomes " Maruvudu yella".

One of emerging singers. Have been listening to her for couple of years now.. Pleasantly surprised she knows Kannada.
Loved the way how she sang so many kritis with Bhaava and without Bhaava. I don't know why many Carnatic music teachers care only about the technicality of the swaras underneath but do not stress the importance of saahithya.
This was an illuminating podcast for a Carnatic music beginner. Will pay more attention to Saahithya and the Bhaava behind every Varnam / Krithi from now on🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Late Smt.Rukmini Devi Athai had stuck to the traditional tunes as Late Papanasam Sivan taught to our Musicians as Athai set the Gita Govindam Natya Natakam. Our batch learnt directly from Athai the production. The 19th Ashtapadi was known Sanjeevini Ashtapadi. The manuscript had the oil as Sri.Jayadeva was going for his oil bath after deleting that particular sahithya but Lord Sri Krishna rewrote the same sahithyam😢 . Thank you Sivasri for mentioning about the 19th Ashtapadi. Very interesting interaction session. Namaskaram to you both 💐💐

I have been an ardent fan of Sivasri ever since I listened to her bhajan concert for Telengana day celebration in Hyderabad. Among various krithis sung by her on various stages I loved her rendition
of ashtapathy (19) ' Vadasiyathi...' the most followed by Guru Raghavendra's krithi in Mantralaya. Pleasant surprise for me that Sivasri has highlighted these two as her favourites too. I thought
